Information about language resources available at Suffolk University
Writing Center and its Fall 2007 registration hours
If you would like to know more, please contact Megan Gately at 617-573-8270.
Suffolk University's Writing Center offers tutoring to all students
interested in improving their writing. Students need not be struggling or
failing in a course in order to work with one of their tutors. They help
students:
* Organize and detail arguments
* Strengthen sentences
* Refine style
* Improve reading comprehension
* Analyze literary texts
* Learn research techniques
* Study grammar & punctuation
Because the Writing Center does NOT offer drop-in tutoring, students
must first register in person during their open registration hours.
Fall 2007 Registration Hours:
Monday 10:00AM - 4:00 PM
Tuesday 11:00AM - 4:00 PM
Wednesday 10:00AM - 4:00 PM
Thursday 11:00AM - 4:00 PM
Friday 10:00AM - 4:00 PM
No appointment is needed to register. Students should bring a recent
writing sample, course syllabus and any other materials that will help
determine their needs. Registration takes approximately 20 minutes
and tutoring begins within a few days.
Students are usually tutored one hour per week and may work with the
tutor for as many weeks as they choose, provided they attend tutorials
regularly. Tutorials are scheduled Monday through Friday, 9-5.
